Venetian Heritage

San Vito al Tagliamento, Italy

Located in the heart of San Vito al Tagliamento’s historic center, this 18th-century palazzo reveals a distinctly Venetian character, reflected in both the original spatial organization and the choice of materials, many of which remain intact and remarkably preserved.
The comprehensive interior renovation was guided by the client’s contemporary living requirements, while maintaining the architectural integrity of the building. The project preserved the traditional tripartite Venetian layout, subtly enhanced through the enlargement of existing openings to allow for a more fluid, cross-sectional spatial dialogue.
At the core of the intervention is a sculptural helical staircase that redefines the building’s vertical circulation. Its form and placement offer dynamic visual connections across the staggered levels, introducing a sense of urban openness within the interior.
The first floor is dedicated to the public living areas, while the upper two levels accommodate the private quarters, seamlessly integrating modern comfort within a historically rich context.
